Folder Lock

We often organize many of our files in a folder. Inside the folder, we keep various files, subfolders, images, and other important data safely.

However, the folder itself is not secure, and anyone can open it.

Normally, we can lock individual files, but folders cannot be locked in the same way as files.

There are software programs available for folder locking, but you can also lock folders without using any software.
Below are two methods to lock folders:

Method 1: Using Folder Properties (Without Software)

  1. Right-click on your folder

  2. Click Properties

  3. Go to the Security tab

  4. Select Administrators

  5. Click Edit

  6. Under Permissions, check Deny for all options

  7. Click Apply

  8. Click OK

If a prompt like "Continue" appears, it means your folder is successfully locked.

Method 2: Using WinRAR Software (With Password Protection)

Note: This method requires WinRAR software installed on your PC.

  1. Right-click on the folder

  2. Select Add to archive

  3. In the Archive name field, change the name if you want

  4. Click Set password

  5. Enter a password (e.g., 123)

  6. Re-enter the same password for verification

  7. Check the option Encrypt file names

  8. Click OK

Now, your folder is locked in a password-protected archive file.
