Let’s start learning these important concepts in detail.

 Page Setup in MS Word

You can access Page Setup from:
? Layout → Page Setup

This option allows you to set margins, orientation, size, breaks, columns, and more.

1. Margins

  • Margins are the empty spaces on the top, bottom, left, and right of the page.

  • You can select predefined margins or click on Custom Margin to set your own.

  • Gutter Margin: Used while binding pages, to leave extra space on the top or left side.

2. Orientation

  • Portrait – Default setting, page height is more than width.

  • Landscape – Page width increases, useful for tables or wide content.

3. Size

  • Allows you to set the page size (A4, Letter, Legal, etc.).

4. Breaks

  • Used to insert space or divide content between two pages.

5. Line Numbers

  • Automatically adds numbers to each line, useful in coding or legal documents.

6. Columns

  • Used to divide text into multiple sections (1, 2, 3, or custom).

  • Example: Newspapers and magazines often use 2 or 3 columns.

7. Hyphenation

  • Automatically breaks words with a hyphen (-) at the end of a line.

  • Helps in reducing gaps and making text look neat.

 What is a Folder?

A Folder is used to store files and documents on a computer. It helps in organizing data systematically.

  2. Folder goes to Recycle Bin (can be restored if needed).

⌨️ Difference Between Delete & Backspace Keys

Both keys remove text, but they work differently:

  • Backspace Key → Removes text behind the cursor.
